The eclectic nature of the neighbourhood is reflected on the streets themselves.

You’ll find multi-million-dollar infills going up alongside a wide array of character homes, all within a park-like setting in the heart of the city.

Sharing a close-knit community vibe with the adjacent neighbourhoods, Altadore was named one of Calgary’s best communities in 2010 by Avenue Calgary, for the close proximity to Marda Loop Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ) and River Park, one of Calgary’s most popular parks located along the Elbow River. Altadore has also been known as River Park and Garrison Woods.

Altadore is bordered by Crowchild Trail stretching from 34th Avenue SW to 50th Avenue SW and includes River Park & Sandy Beach Park.

AMENITIES

The area is in close proximity to everything from elite private schools to one of Calgary’s premier athletic parks.

It’s an ideal for a family who’s active and wants all the amenities that the city has to offer.

There are several highly ranking schools, including Lycee Louis Pasteur and Master’s Academy, both located in Garrison Woods  The area has no shortage of parks & recreation, highlighted by The Glenmore Athletic Park, where residents have access to ball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, indoor skating rink & pool, and an outdoor running track..

SHOP & DINE

This inner-city community claims the south side of the Marda Loop shopping district.

It’s one of Calgary’s busiest outdoor shopping areas.

Marda Loop showcases top coffee shops, laid-back pubs and specialty restaurants. There’s also access to grocery stores like Safeway & Blush Lane Organic.  The area’s vibrant culture really spreads its wings every August with Marda Gras, a New Orleans-themed festival that draws 35,000 Calgarians annually.

GET OUTSIDE

The neighbourhood borders the Elbow River and encompasses Sandy Beach Park and River Park.

One of Calgary’s largest inner city parks is ideal for those who love the outdoors.

Both areas are excellent spots for dog-walking, picnic lunches and a leisurely weekend laze along the serene Elbow River pathway.
